Ways to Give
Almost everything the chapter gives away comes from individual donations. In 2024 that added up to $39,700 paid directly to veterans and their families.
Give money
By check
Make it out to VVA Chapter 227 and post it to:
P.O. Box 5653Arlington, VA 22205
The chapter’s most-used route, and the one with no fees attached.
Venmo
Handle not published
The chapter accepts Venmo, but the account name appears on the current site only inside a QR code image.
Cash at a meeting
There is a collection box at every monthly meeting, and the proceeds of the 50/50 drawing go to the same fund.
Donate a vehicle
Vehicles for Veterans is Car Donation Foundation’s tax-exempt vehicle donation program, benefiting disabled veterans. It accepts cars, boats with a trailer, RVs, trucks, SUVs and motorcycles — running or not.
At no cost to you, the vehicle is towed away at a time that suits you, and a preliminary tax receipt is mailed within 15 days. The chapter receives prorated funds from VVA headquarters for vehicles donated this way.
Donate clothing and household goods
VVA Pickup is a service of Vietnam Veterans of America. It collects used clothes and household goods from your door, at your convenience, and uses them to support programs addressing the needs of all veterans. The chapter receives prorated funds from the resulting retail sales.
